Escaped sex offender found south of the Coast

UPDATE: NEW SOUTH WALES Police have caught a dangerous sex offender who fled from Brisbane

Christopher Charles Gardner sparked a massive man hunt after disappearing from the Wacol area this morning and cutting off his tracking device.

At 10am, Queensland police said he’d been caught in Murwillumbah and is being held in the Byron Bay watch house.


Under new Queensland laws, dangerous sex offenders who remove their tracking devices face jail terms of up to five years.

It’s understood he’ll be extradited to Queensland shortly.

EARLIER: A MANHUNT is underway, after a dangerous sex offender escaped from supervised accommodation at Wacol in Brisbane’s west.

Queensland Police are currently looking for Christopher Charles Gardner who was reported missing last night.

Police have warned anyone who sees Gardner, not to approach him and to contact police immediately.

Gardner is described as being 180cm tall, weighing 88kgs with a fair complexion, blue eyes, blond hair with a purple streak and is clean-shaven..

He has a number of tattos, including: a dot under the right eye; the letters CP and name “Marlina” on his left arm; “Cherise” on his right arm; a mark on a knuckle of his left hand; a heart and the name “Jamal” on his left leg ; and a cross and a yin and yang symbol on his right leg.

He also has a scar below his left knee.
