Hunt for toothless man accused of spitting at testing clinic worker

Investigations are underway after a COVID-19 testing clinic worker was allegedly spat at by a man in NSW.

It’s understood the man, who has been described as caucasian and missing his two front teeth, was waiting for a coronavirus test at a drive-through clinic in Maitland around 3pm on Saturday.

According to police, the man became abusive when he was told the clinic was closing.

“It’s alleged he then spat at the employee, narrowly missing him, before fleeing in a white coloured vehicle,” NSW Police said.

The man remains at large, with police appealing for help from the public to try and track him down.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information or dashcam vision that could assist, to contact Maitland Police Station on (02) 4934 0200.
