Husband of missing Nerang business woman pleads for wife to come home

UPDATE: THE HUSBAND of missing Nerang business woman Belinda Lee has pleaded for his wife to come home.

Mr Ken Lee spoke to media at 1.00pm this afternoon, in relation to his wife Ms Lee, who has been missing for three days.

A distraught  Mr Lee begged for his wife to come home.

“Bub we’ve loved each other for 40 years and I want to do another 40 years with you, but I need you home to do that.”

“The kids and bear need you home, we love you so much and there are so many people who have already talked to us and come around to the house, so please come home as soon as you can.”

Mr Lee stated that the disappearance of his wife was extremely out of character.

“This is really out of the blue for us, Belinda would never do this. Even when she goes to the shop or takes the dog for a walk, she leaves a note on the bench to say when she will be back, so this is really out of character for her,” he said.

Mr Lee told media that the night before Belinda vanished the pair had a tiff and that they slept in separate rooms.

“On that night we had a tiff but this result would have been the furtherest thing from my mind”

“All married couples have tiffs every now and then but I expected that we would be making up the next morning or even that night, but it just didn’t happen and I’m beside myself.”

The 57-year-old was described by her husband as one of the “most positive people you will ever meet”.

“Belinda would be one of the most positive people you would ever meet – she has just completed the Kokoda challenge, just run the half marathon and planning to run the full marathon next year.”

Mr Lee said on the morning of his wife’s disappearance he discovered her mobile had been left at home.

“I rang her but her mobile rang twice and it was downstairs so I knew then she hadn’t taken it and that’s when I became really worried.”

Mrs Lee was last seen at her business, Guardian Pharmacy at Earle Plaza at Nerang, at 4.30am Tuesday morning.

Police reiterated that the investigation was a missing persons case and stated that they are seriously concerned about the safety and welfare of Mrs Lee.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
