Australian singing sensation Helen Reddy, best known for her hit song I Am Woman, has died aged 78.
Reddy’s children Traci and Jordan confirmed the sad news in a statement posted to the singer’s official Facebook page a short time ago.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Helen Reddy, on the afternoon of September 29th 2020 in Los Angeles.

“She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and a truly formidable woman.
“Our hearts are broken. But we take comfort in the knowledge that her voice will live on forever.”
Born in Melbourne, Reddy shot to international fame in the 1970s with her hit I Am Woman, which went on to become an anthem for second-wave feminism.
A movie about her life was recently turned into a movie, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
Reddy, who won a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal, was diagnosed with dementia in 2015 and had been living in a nursing home in LA.
