Hollywood heartthrob Justin Timberlake has spoken out, after images emerged of him getting cozy with his movie co-star at a bar in New Orleans.
The public display of affection has continued to make headlines across the globe over the past few weeks, with the 38-year-old actor taking to social media on Thursday morning to set the record straight.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Timberlake publicly apologised to his wife, fellow actress Jessica Biel, and family for his “strong lapse in judgement” involving Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright.

“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people that I love,” Timberlake wrote.
“A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgement – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my costar,” he continued.
“I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.”
Timberlake said “this is not the example I want to set for my son.”
“I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that.”
The Can’t Stop The Feeling singer finished by saying he is looking forward to finishing filming his new movie.
“I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it,” the statement concluded.
Following the post, dozens of fans praised Timberlake for his honesty and said there was no need for him to apologise in the first place.
“You’re human and we all make mistakes,” one person commented.
“Proud of you for owning and learning from this!! Never believed the rumors in the first place!” wrote another.
