Idris called Cartwright during time of need in Broadbeach

IT HAS been revealed, troubled Penrith star Jamal Idris phoned former coach John Cartwright during his hour of need on the Gold Coast last weekend.

Fox Sports reports, the Titans mentor personally went and located Idris.

The star centre, who has been given leave from the Panthers, walked away from his contract with the Gold Coast club in January this year to be closer to his Sydney-based family.

But, he spent last weekend on the Glitter Strip while Penrith enjoyed a bye.

The western Sydney club has made sure little information about exactly what happened is kept secret, amid reports of inappropriate behaviour in Broadbeach.

The Titans will host the Panthers at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday night.
