The French backpacker who allegedly assaulted a Paramedic in North Queensland, has been granted bail.
21-year-old Timothee Rousselle, was being treated by two paramedics outside a Cairns hostel when he dragged the female out of the ambulance and punched her twice in the head, police allege.
He was charged with seriously assaulting a public officer, and apologized to the media as he exited the watch house.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t myself,” he said.
The attack comes after shocking new figures reveal that more than 200 paramedics have been attacked, and more than 100 have been verbally abused, in the past financial year.
Rousselle’s case has been adjourned until October 20.
