Image released of man who threatened 10yo with knife at Qld school

Police are appealing for public assistance after a 10-year-old boy was confronted by a man with a knife at a Maryborough school yesterday afternoon.

Around 12.40pm the boy was reportedly getting a drink from a bubbler at the Ariadne Street education facility when he was confronted by a man holding a knife and threatened.  The boy ran back to his classroom and the school was placed into lock down.

The boy was not physically injured during the incident.

The man ran from the scene in an unknown direction.

The man is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, ginger messy hair and has ginger goatee beard.  The man was also wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap with the letters ‘RT’ on the front and had a tattoo of a tear drop on his left cheek, below his eye.

Police have released a comfit image of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their investigations.
