Image released of man who tried to lure girl away with him

Police are appealing for public assistance following a frightening child approach in Yagoona.

About 7.05am, Thursday 26 November 2015, a 16-year-old girl was sitting at a bus stop outside Yagoona Railway Station on the Hume Highway, when an unknown male approached her.

Police say the male attempted to lure the girl to leave with him, however when she refused, he became aggressive.


The young girl fled the scene uninjured, and police were notified.

Officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command are investigating the incident, and have released a Comfit image of a male who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 28 and 32, tall, with a muscular build, dark brown hair, thick bushy eyebrows, brown eyes and an unshaven head.

The male was seen wearing an ‘Aztec’ patterned singlet which was mainly green, chequered patterned shorts, and muddy work boots. He is believed to have spoken with a strong European accent.
