Image released after woman knifed by teen at Qld care facility

Detectives have released an image of a person who may be able to assist with their investigation into the wounding of a woman at a care facility in Kearneys Spring last Thursday.

Police say that at around midday, a 46-year-old woman came across a teenage boy attempting to force open a washing machine’s coin dispenser at the care facility.

The boy allegedly threatened the woman with a knife before striking her, causing a three to four centimeter long superficial wound to her stomach.

The woman was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital for treatment.

Detectives have since recovered the knife allegedly used in the incident however are appealing for anyone who may have been in area around midday and who may have seen a boy (similar to pictured) wearing a black or dark-coloured hooded jumper to contact Crime Stoppers.
