An incredible, mind-blowing fireworks display lit up the skies above Surfers Paradise on Saturday night as part of the tourist city’s free annual Seafire Festival.
Thousands of keen locals and tourists gathered on the sands of Surfers Paradise beach and along the foreshore to watch two of Queensland’s best pyro-technicians battle it out in the skies above the tourist strip.
Onlookers were treated to several free thrilling displays of colourful, cutting-edge fireworks which were launched from barges anchored just off shore and synchronised to a music spectacular.

Between performances, the large crowd was kept entertained by jet-ski freestyle stunt teams and parachutists in light-up costumes.
This year’s Seafire event also included a complementary fireworks display dedicated to police and fallen servicemen and women.
