Information wanted after several mountain bikers injured in Nerang State Forest

wanted man nerang bike trail 349x240POLICE are looking for a man who is allegedly responsible for placing logs and rocks on mountain bike trails in the Nerang State Forest.

Several mountain bike riders have been injured after crashing into the items which have been deliberately placed on the tracks.

Officer in Charge of Nerang Police Senior Sergeant Peter Gordon said police were concerned with the reported behaviour.


“The items placed on the bike trail appear to be strategically placed to force riders to either crash into them or crash whilst avoiding them,” Senior Sergeant Gordon said.

“It is certainly concerning that riders have suffered injuries as a result of these incidents.

“Anyone found to be intentionally placing items across bike trails could potentially face serious charges as a consequence.”

A man reportedly acting suspicious in the area is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 40s with dark short hair, a solid build and missing front teeth.

He was wearing a black “Led Zepplin” t-shirt, black shorts, a black cap and sunglasses at the time.
