Inmate stabbed in the throat at NSW prison
POLICE are investigating after an inmate was stabbed in the throat at a maximum security prison in Central West NSW.
The attack occurred inside the Lithgow Correctional Facility at Lithgow, 150 kilometres west of Sydney, at around 11am AEDT on Saturday.
Police say the 23-year-old male inmate suffered a non life-threatening stab wound to the neck.
He was airlifted to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the attack and are yet to identify the inmate’s attacker.
