Ms Pitt had planned to climb to Everest Base Camp with Interplast – the medical charity that helps burns survivors – but decided against it.
“I wanted to do the walk,” she told 60 Minutes, “and then I thought about it and you know it’s not just myself I have to think about and Everest Base Camp there’s high altitude, low oxygen, not much sanitation and if something happens to you it’s really hard to get to a medical facility.”
She is now 15-weeks pregnant and the couple has decided on a girl’s and boy’s name, but won’t reveal what they are.
“We’re stoked,” Michael gushed. “We couldn’t be happier.”
