Intense fire destroys Tallai home

A HOUSE has been destroyed after erupting into flames on the Gold Coast this morning.
Firefighters were called to the Uplands Close home in Tallai around 6.40am to find the property well alight.
Multiple crews worked hard to bring the blaze under control and stop it from spreading into nearby bushland.

Unfortunately, nothing could be salvaged.
It’s understood an elderly woman was taken to hospital with minor smoke inhalation, while another was treated at the scene for shock.
The cause of the fire remains unclear, however early indications suggest it is not suspicious.
It comes as the Gold Coast endured its coldest morning of the year so far, with unseasonably low single digit temperatures.
