Introducing the Tweed “tool library”

Forget just borrowing books, an innovative local group on the Tweed are looking to set up a library where you can borrow everything from hand and power tools to gardening and camping equipment.

But first they need our help to find a home base where they can store everything.

Toolo Murwillumbah describe themselves as a new resource for sharing occasional used stuff such as tools, camping equipment and kitchen appliances – basically, to help reduce the amount of “things” we buy and then just use once or twice.

It’s based on similar models around the world (see video below) that aim to reduce the amount of waste across the planet.

The Toolo Murwillumbah team hope to build their library in Murwillumbah – where many locals were impacted by flooding earlier this year – and then service the local community and surrounding villages across the Shire.
