POLICE are continuing their investigations following a fatal crash over the border on Wednesday.
At around 2.45pm, a Mitsubishi Magna station wagon was travelling in an east along the Tweed Valley Way when it collided with a light truck travelling in the opposite direction, near the intersection of Riverside Drive.
Emergency services were called; however the 55-year-old female driver of the station wagon died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old man, was taken to Tweed Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, and for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police have received no further reports of injury.
A crime scene was established and the Tweed Valley Way was closed for a number of hours.
Officers from the Tweed Byron Local Area Command are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
