Investigations underway after car ploughs into GC powerpole
A driver has had to be cut free from the wreckage of his vehicle after crashing into a power pole in Mudgeeraba overnight.
Emergency crews were called to Strike Way around 11.30pm, following reports of a serious crash.
Upon arrival, they found a car had collided with a powerpole, with the driver still trapped inside.
Crews managed to free the man safely before he was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
The 72-year-old from Tallai was then taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The accident cut power to hundreds of homes in the suburb, however it has since been restored.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the crash.
