Investigations underway after cars collide at busy Gold Coast intersection

Police are investigating a nasty crash in Palm Beach this morning which saw one motorist hospitalised.

Emergency services were called to Thrower Drive around 5.20 am following reports a Mazda CX 5 and a grey Toyota Hilux had collided at the Gold Coast Highway intersection.

The Mazda driver, a 45-year-old man suffered an injury to his collar bone and had to be taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the ute, a 30-year-old man, was luckily uninjured and declined transport.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
