Investigations underway after motorist slams into parked cars in Southport

Police are investigating a multivehicle crash in Southport in the early hours of this morning, that saw a man hospitalised.

Emergency services were called to Marine Parade around 2.00 am following reports that a car had crashed into a couple of parked cars.

Northbound lanes had to be closed off due to debris, while traffic was briefly diverted down North Street.


A 24-year-old man was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital for treatment for minor injuries but is understood to be in a stable condition.

Police are now investigating the circumstances around the crash.
