Investigations underway after Qld man shot dead by police

Investigations are underway in Brisbane after police shot a man dead overnight.

Officers were called to an address along Surround Street in Dakabin around midnight, following reports of a disturbance between a man and a woman.

On arrival, the officers report being confronted by the man who was allegedly armed with knives.

One of the officers tried to deploy their taser but it was ineffective, leading to a number of shots fires instead.

The 27-year-old was struck, and despite first aid being administered, he died at the scene.

No one else was injured.

The Ethical Standards Command is now investigating the incident, while anyone with dashcam vision or further information is being urged to come forward.
