Investigations underway after vacant Gold Coast unit block goes up in flames
Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a unit fire on the Gold Coast early this morning.
It broke out in a block of units on Back Street in Biggera Waters just after 2.00 am.
It’s understood the units are vacant at the moment, with crews suspecting the blaze may have been deliberately lit.
Paramedics were on standby but there were no injuries or assessments reported.
Investigators will return to the scene this morning to determine the cause.
It’s not the first time that a massive blaze has broken out along Back Street, with a mother and her son killed in a blaze there almost a year ago.
