Investigations underway after ambulance damaged by rock near Tweed

Police are appealing for information after a rock was thrown at an ambulance near Tweed Heads on the weekend.

Police said that around 9.30pm on Saturday, the ambulance was travelling south on the M1 Motorway at Road Mountain when it was hit by a rock.

Luckily, the driver and his female passenger escaped injury, however the front windscreen of the vehicle sustained damage.

Investigations are now underway with anyone who may have witnessed the incident urged to come forward.
