Ipswich man charged with ‘misconduct in public office’ following CCC investigation

A 37-year-old man has today been charged with Misconduct in Public Office.

The man, from Brassal, was taken into custody following a Crime and Corruption Commission investigation into Ipswich City Council.

The man was charged at the Ipswich City Watch-house on Tuesday with 1 x Misconduct in Public Office contrary to section 92A of the Criminal Code.

He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 24 May.

The CCC says that the “investigation remains ongoing” and is now “before the court”, so they are unable to comment further.
