England fans around the world have been left heartbroken this morning after Italy won the final of Euro 2020 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
It looked like England’s first international trophy since 1966 would indeed be ‘coming home’, throughout the final at Wembley Stadium, after the Three Lions scored a goal within the opening minutes of the match.
However, midway through the second half, Italy made it even, forcing the match into overtime. No goals were scored in the 30 minutes.

It all came down to a very tense penalty shootout, England was ahead 2-1 after the first two shots each.
It all went wrong in the third for England, with Marcus Rashford hitting the post and missing.
Italy then came back with another two goals. England suffered two saves. And the championship was decided: “It’s coming to Rome.”
