FORMER Titans star Jamal Idris has been stood down by Penrith following an incident on the Gold Coast.
The centre was reportedly involved in an alcohol-related incident while visiting the Glitter Strip last week, when the Panthers had a bye.
Nine Wide World of Sports reports, the NRL club issued a statement that noted Idris needed time off to address some personal issues, but they didn’t relate to disciplinary matters.

“Jamal Idris will be taking a break from rugby league, effective immediately,” read the statement.
He will be unavailable for tonight’s clash with Parramatta and no time frame was given for his return to the field.
“The club has been working closely with the NRL this week to put a support system in place to help Jamal deal with some personal issues.”
“The club stresses that this matter has nothing to do with disciplinary action.”
