Jann Stuckey to leave parliament after 15 years
GOLD Coast MP Jann Stuckey has announced she will not be re-contesting her seat at the next election.
The LNP member for Currumbin was first elected to the Queensland parliament in 2004 and served in senior positions, including as Tourism Minister under former premier Campbell Newman.
“It’s no secret I’ve undergone hip surgery and had some other medical issues so you really have to listen to your body,” Ms Stuckey told Parliament on Friday.
“It’s very hard letting go – as a politician to be able to go pretty much at a time of your choosing is a very rare thing.”
