Japan rocked by powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake
A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has struck southeast of Tokyo.
The powerful quake hit off the east coast of Honshu in Japan around 12.14am local time at a depth of 16km.
Geoscience Australia estimates the quake could have been felt by people up to 836km away.
No damage or injuries have been reported and no tsunami warning has been issued.
