THE AUSTRALIAN Open has lost one of its biggest drawcards, with Jason Day pulling out of the event.

The World Number 8 and his team are hoping the rest period will leave him fitter and strong for his 2015 campaign.

It’s reported his rehabilition will be completed by the November 27-30 event in Sydney but Day’s medical team say the long flight from Ohio would be ill-advised for his back.
This year, Day only managed 15 starts on the US Tour, including two mid-tournament withdrawals, thanks to back and thumb injuries as well as sickness.
