Jason Day has narrowly missed out on claiming his first US PGA tour event victory in more than a year, losing the Byron Nelson tournament in Texas on Monday morning.
The Beaudesert local shot a two-under par 68 final round to finish the tournament tied with American Billy Horschel on 12-under, forcing a sudden death playoff.
Day just couldn’t match Horschel on the opening playoff hole, failing to sink a 4ft putt in order to score a par and move the playoff to a second hole.
