Jo-Ann Miller quits Cabinet after sacking as Police Minister

Jo-Ann Miller has quit Cabinet after she was stood down from her role as Police and Emergency Services Minister.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk yesterday demoted Ms Miller after the Parliamentary Ethics Committee found she had a pattern of reckless conduct.

In a statement released this morning, Ms Miller announced she would be resigning from Cabinet in Parliament today.

“It has been an honour to serve as Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Minister for Corrective Services,” Ms Miller wrote.

I have enjoyed working with all my Commissioners, Directors-General, officers and staff across my Portfolio.

It has been a privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with them, supporting them as they do what they do best – keeping Queenslanders safe.

I wish them well in their future endeavours and my spirit will always be with them.”
