The Gold Coast Titans have confirmed Joe Greenwood will depart the club effective immediately to head back home to England.
The NRL club released a statement on Tuesday morning revealing the 25-year-old has signed a deal with the Wigan Warriors in the English Super League.
Greenwood came to the Titans from England in 2017 and played 22 games at the club in his debut year.

However, the back-rower has struggled to find the form to get a call up for the Titans in 2018 and has instead been playing for the Burleigh Bears in the Intrust Super Cup
“Joe has been given an opportunity to return home and to play top flight rugby league at one of the premier clubs in the English Super League,” Coach Garth Brennan said in the statement.
“The entire club wish him all the best for the future and I know he will be a success back in his home country.”
While in a statement from Wigan, Greenwood expressed his delight at signing a three-and-a-half year deal with the club.
“I am really pleased to have signed a long-term deal for Wigan and to move on to the next chapter in my career.
“Wigan is a massive club and … I felt it was the right decision to make and a great opportunity for me.
“I can’t wait to get over there and get stuck into the business end of the season.”
It’s expected Greenwood will be back in England by the end of the month.
