Jogger accused of trying to snatch toddler from sports oval

POLICE are searching for a man who allegedly tried snatching a toddler from a sports oval in Coffs Harbour.

It’s understood four children, aged between two and nine, were playing at McLean Street Oval around 7.30pm on Friday when a stranger who had been jogging around the field approached them.

The man reportedly scooped up a two-year-old girl and started jogging away before the child’s older sister yelled at him, at which point police said the man put the child down and left the scene.
