John Chardon ordered to stand trial for wife’s alleged murder

Gold Coast businessman John Chardon has been committed to stand trial for the alleged murder of his wife Novy Chardon.

Ms Chardon vanished from her home at Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast in February 2013.

The mother-of-two’s car was found abandoned near the Nerang train station five days later, however her body has never been found.

In the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday, John Chardon’s alleged Filipino male lover gave evidence claiming Mr Chardon asked him if he could kill.

It followed earlier claims made by convicted conman Peter Foster, who said Chardon admitted to him in jail that he had shot his wife and dumped her body in the Gold Coast Seaway.

Mr Chardon formally pleaded not guilty on Tuesday afternoon.

He will face trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court at a later date.
