Johnathan Thurston wins Sports Dad of the Year

MAROONS Origin superstar Johnathan Thurston has been crowned the 2015 Philips Sports Dad of the Year.

Known as JT, the North Queensland Cowboys star beat a field of devoted sports dads to be crowned champion, with an amazing 25 percent of votes.

The 32-year-old is a father to two young daughters, Frankie and Charlie.

The win enables JT to donate $5000 to his charity of choice, The Mark Hughes Foundation.
