Event co-founders, Christine McDougall and Lou McGregor are really looking forward to this year’s event and are hoping to see even more Gold Coasters participate. “We had 25 speakers and 170 attendees last year, which we were so happy about, 14 projects came out of the event and we are looking to contribute further to that this year,” said McDougall.

Lou McGregor said the 2016 Big Blue Sky aims to increase the common wealth of communities by bringing together and focusing the energy and talent of the community, to generate opportunities and celebrate ex-isting value.

“It is a great opportunity for people that care about the city to come out and get involved, it’s not designed to be ‘sit there and listen’ event although if that’s what you would like to do we are ok with that. We encourage everyone to participate and put forward their own ideas on how to make the Gold Coast an even better place,” explained McGregor.

Tickets include all-day catering (morning/ afternoon tea, lunch) informative speakers, and workshops to the two-day event.
