The Gold Coast keeps churning out big lotto winners with a Southport couple taking a share of first division in Saturday night’s draw.
Their entry was one of nine winning tickets with each winner scooping $441,295.45.
The couple also won division six, taking their total win to $441,311.40.

The husband and wife said they never thought it would happen to them.
“Oh my god! That’s beautiful thank you! the winning woman declared.
“My husband was at home and he just said ‘Oh my god, oh my god’.
“I said ‘Don’t get excited hon, we are never ever that lucky’.
“We went into the shop to check it to confirm. We just didn’t know what to do.
“It’s been such a lovely surprise. Just beautiful!”
The couple celebrated with a bottle of champagne and now plan to put their winnings towards a new home.
Their winning entry was purchased at the Lucky Dragon Newsagency at Australia Fair.
Staff member Carla Latorre said it’s the stores first division one entry in five years.
“We’ve sold division one winning entries twice before but they were both in 2013,” she said.
“It’s so great to have another winner and to have broken our drought!”
There’s now been 14 division one lottery winners on the Gold Coast so far this year with officials still looking for one of the winners.
A prize worth $671,513.12 that was bought in Helensvale in August still hasn’t been claimed.
