Kate Jones returns as GC Commonwealth Games minister

Education, Tourism and Major Events Minister Kate Jones has returned to the Gold Coast’s Commonwealth Games portfolio.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk revealed Ms Jones would be returning to her role as the Minister for the Commonwealth Games following Stirling Hinchliffe’s shock resignation on Monday.

“Kate served as Commonwealth Games Minister with distinction in 2015. The Games are on track for April 2018. I pay tribute to Stirling Hinchliffe’s stewardship of the Games and his work with GOLDOC Chairman Peter Beattie,” she said.
