Kids accused of bashing man with fence paling during violent crime spree

A GROUP of young teens have allegedly bashed a woman and beaten a man with a fence paling during a violent crime spree in South Brisbane.

Seven children aged between 12 and 15 have been arrested and charged over the brutal attacks, which occurred within 15 minutes of each other.

The first attack happened shortly after 2am when the group of youths allegedly bailed up a 22-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man on Manning Street.

Police said the children allegedly beat the man with a fence paling and repeatedly punched the woman before running off with their money.

Then, 15 minutes later, it’s alleged the group attacked a 38-year-old man on Grey Street.

The kids allegedly punched the man several times before stealing his bag and running off.

They were eventually tracked down by police and were arrested in Kurilpa Park a short time later.

All seven kids – four girls aged 12, 14, 14 and 15 and three boys aged 12, 13 and 14, have been charged with two counts each of armed robbery and one count each of attempted armed robbery.

All three victims were left battered and bruised after the attacks and were treated for minor injuries.
