Kmart easter eggs recalled over fears of plastic contamination

Firstly, I would like to congratulate anyone who still has chocolate Easter eggs lying around at home because you must have some epic self-control.

But if you do, and they’re from Kmart, you may want to be careful.

The popular discount retail store has today issued a nationwide recall of their Solid/Filled Egg Bag 360g and Caramel Egg Bag 160g over fears they may contain plastic.

“The recall is due to the potential presence of foreign matter (plastic)” Food Standards Australia said in the recall notice.

“Food products containing plastic may cause injury if consumed.”

The easter eggs have a Best Before date of 12/2/2021 and have been available for sale in Kmart stores around the country and online.

People are being urged not to eat the eggs and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
