Kmart’s Oxenford store opens Thursday

Kmart will open the doors to its newest Gold Coast Store at Oxenford tomorrow.

Located between the Global Plaza and Tamborine-Oxenford Roads, it will be the city’s first freestanding Kmart.

The 6,200sqm store will showcase Kmart’s new store layout that is being rolled out nationally, designed with coloured zones that feature Kmart’s celebrated categories across apparel, toys, homewares, health and beauty, stationery and sporting goods to ensure the customer shopping experience is convenient and enjoyable.

Over 100 new recruits have been hired to run the store, with experienced store manager and 2015 NRA Young Retailer of the Year finalist, Scott Phillips, appointed to lead the Oxenford team.

A Kmart employee of five years, Scott is eager to open the doors of the new store on Thursday. “The Oxenford team are really looking forward to welcoming locals into our new store. Offering the latest ranges across all of the Kmart ‘worlds’, shoppers can be excited by our on-‐trend and affordable products,” said Scott.

The Oxenford opening day on Thursday will commence from 8am with free family entertainment available throughout the day including a children’s magician, face painting, balloon artist and cupcake treats for customers.
