A manhunt is underway to track down an alleged knife-wielding baby formula thief on the run in Sydney.
The man, who has been described by police as aged in his 40s with a slim build and short dark hair, entered a supermarket on Rowe Street in Eastwood just before 3.00pm yesterday.
It’s understood he was in the company of another man when the pair walked to the baby formula isle and began stashing several tins of formula into a backpack.

The two men then attempted to leave the store when a suspicious worker stopped the man and asked to see inside his bag.
The man handed the supermarket employee his bag before a scuffle broke out between the pair and the alleged thief pulled out a knife and threatened the worker.
Thankfully the employee escaped uninjured, however the man then made a run for it and managed to escape with three tins of formula.
An investigation is now underway with police appealing for help to track down the pair.
The armed man has been described as being Indian/ Sub-Continental in appearance, aged in his 40s, about 175cm tall with a slim build, short dark hair and wearing a grey jumper, jeans, black Nike shoes with white soles and a black backpack.
The second man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his twenties, about 180cm tall with a slim build, and wearing a hat, a dark t-shirt with black track pants, dark shoes, and carrying a black adidas backpack.
