A MAN has been shot and killed by police after allegedly lunging at officers with a knife outside a restaurant south of Perth.
Police were called to reports of a man acting suspiciously on Rod Court in Wannanup around 12.20am on Sunday.
They swooped on the small, usually quiet street and allegedly found the man wielding a knife.

In a statement, police said the man refused to drop the weapon and instead started walking towards an officer.
Police said officers first tried tasering the man before being forced to shoot him as he continued to advanced towards them.
“Officers discharged their tasers and when these proved ineffective, discharged a firearm,” the statement said.
Police performed CPR on the man at the scene before he was rushed to Peel Health Campus where he later died.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad and Internal Affairs Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
