Knife-wielding thief on the run after holding up Gold Coast servo

Investigations are underway after a Gold Coast service station was robbed at knife-point.

Emergency services were called to the business along Southport Nerang Road in Molendinar around 1.00 am, following reports of the incident.

Early inquiries indicate that a man walked up to the attendant at the counter before producing a knife and demanding money and tobacco.

The attendant complied before the thief fled on foot. It’s not clear exactly which direction he went.

Luckily, no injuries were reported from the incident.

Police are now investigating and calling on anyone with information to come forward.
