A BADLY injured Koala has been rescued from the top of a tree after it was hit by a car at Hope Island.
Fire and Rescue crews were called to Hope Island Road, near Monterey Keys Drive, around 1pm with reports a Koala had been hit by a car and was badly injured.

By the time emergency services arrived, the traumatised Koala had scaled a tree, suffering from a suspected fractured skull.
One lane of Hope Island Road was closed throughout the delicate, hour-long rescue operation.
The Koala is now in the care of Wildlife officers.
