He’s crawled along the Great Wall of China and the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea, and today Kurt Fearnley was named the fourth Gold Coast Commonwealth Games ambassador.
The announcement was made at a special ceremony at Broadwater Parklands attended by Minister for Transport and the Commonwealth Games Stirling Hinchliffe MP, Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate and GOLDOC Chairman Peter Beattie AC.

He joins swimmer Cameron McEvoy, hurdler Sally Pearson, and cyclist Sally Meares – who have been tasked with sharing their knowledge of the Gold Coast and Australia with the world.
The Gold Coast 2018 website says the ambassadors “will be integral to the successful delivery of the biggest event in Australia in a decade, and will help us Share the Dream of GC2018 with the 70 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.”
