NICK Krygios may have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately but it appears the drama hasn’t had an affect on his rankings.
The Australian will reach a new career high in the ATP rankings of 13th despite not playing since his controversial performance at the Shanghai Masters, which saw him slapped with an eight-week ban for tanking.
His rankings rose on the back of his title victory at the Japan Open two weeks ago and was not influenced by his exit in Shanghai.

It puts Kyrgios in reach of becoming Australia’s first male top ten player since Lleyton Hewitt ten years ago.
