Kyrgios in heated Twitter exchange with AFL stars

Teenage Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has found himself in an at times heated exchange with an AFL player on Twitter as he risks being banned for a month on the ATP tour.

Kyrgios secured his third code violation during his loss to Kei Nishikori at the Shanghai Tennis Masters.  He was also fined $1500 this week for swearing during an earlier match.

Adelaide Crows skipper Taylor Walker, affectionately known as Tex, went first posting “when is this absolute Galoot going to learn. What a dead set flog!! Just suspend the peanut!!”

Kyrgios replied “I don’t even know who Tex Walker is lol.”

Then Walker’s recent teammate, Geelong recruit Patrick Dangerfield got involved explaining that “he is the bloke who raised $66,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation shaving his head… Seems like a good bloke to me”.

Kyrgios responded “I’m currently raising money for a cancer foundation with every ace I hit. Didn’t know it was a competition.”

To which Dangerfield Tweeted “didn’t say it was nick you just didn’t know who Tex is so I was filling you in. He also plays footy and wear no.13.”

Kyrgios finished by wishing them both the best in their careers.

The Twitter world quickly caught on the the mini-feud, with one fan urging the pair to settle it on the tennis court.

But with Kyrgios already flirting with a suspension from the ATP Tour it may have been well advised.

He made headlines at the Montreal Masters in August when he told opponent Stan Wawrinka that fellow Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis had slept with his girlfriend.
