Labor promises new mental health facility for GC Uni Hospital if elected

The Labor government is promising the next major expansion of the Gold Coast University Hospital, if it wins the election.

$111.3 million will be spent on a new 40 bed mental health rehabilitation facility, as well as a new hybrid theatre.

“This will allow our wonderful teams to take care of some of the most vulnerable members of the community and to do a better job of it,” Health Minister Steven Miles said.

“As well as relieving pressure on the rest of the hospital, relieving pressure to flow pressure out of the emergency department.

Labor member for Gaven Meaghan Scanlon says only a Labor Government will continue to invest in the health care Queenslanders deserve.

“This $111.3 million injection into the hospital is a big win for the region,” Ms Scanlon said.

“We’re investing in projects that support jobs.

“Not only will this $111.3 million investment support a total of 320 FTE jobs over the life of the projects, it will provide more care, closer to home for Queenslanders living on the Gold Coast.”

Since when did we start believing in political promises?

Anna drives us all crazy in lock down, now she comes along as the mental health savior. The money is borrowed off the country that gave us the CCP-virus. That’s like going into debt to the drunk that drove the school bus off the cliff killing all the children.
