A small number of Aussies who are yet to complete their census forms, are being urged to get them in before today’s deadline.
Despite technical dramas plaguing the opening night of the national survey, it is estimated that 90 per cent of forms have already been submitted.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) launched the survey on the evening of August 9, which was almost immediately shut down over alleged fears of a cyber attack.

In spite of this, two million Aussies still managed to complete the forms on the night.
The ABS was hoping for around 65 per cent of Australians to have completed the forms on the night, but due to the website crash, instead achieved that result the following weekend.
According to the Census and Statistics Act of 1905, the ABS can enforce penalties of up to $180 for failure to complete and return your forms – so don’t risk missing the deadline.
While the official final date is today, the website will not be shut down until Sunday at midnight.
